Meet Dr. Reid

Dr. Reid grew up in a family of 6 children in Irvine, California. After serving a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Texas Fort Worth Mission, he attended Brigham Young University. Upon graduating from Brigham Young University with a degree in Nutritional Science, Dr. Reid attended the #1 dental school in the country: the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

While at Michigan, he had the privilege to travel to Africa to provide dental services and oral health education to the underserved adolescent population of rural Kenya. Immediately following dental school, Dr. Reid moved to the deep south to complete a hospital-based residency program for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Reid then moved to Georgia to complete his orthodontic specialty training at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.

Dr. Reid is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Cleft & Craniofacial Institute of Utah.

In his free time, you can find Dr. Reid outdoors doing a number of things. He is an avid and competitive soccer player, frequent hiker, and enthusiastic snowboarder. He loves playing the guitar, golfing, going to the beach, and rooting for BYU and Michigan sports teams.

Dr. Reid is married to his lovely wife, Lauren, and together they have four beautiful children—three girls and one boy.

Orem Braces

Braces in Orem and Nephi are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Since they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced.

Braces don’t require some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, meaning Orem braces are a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Traditional metal braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They’re made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are affixed to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics.

These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in as long as you have regular adjustments with our doctors.

Invisalign in Orem & Nephi

Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists in Orem and Nephi and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. To keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you’ll need to switch your invisible trays out for the next one in the series every one to two weeks as directed by Dr. Graf and Dr. Reid.

The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Dr. Graf or Dr. Reid at Form Orthodontics in Orem and Nephi will allow us to determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
